Real Living Villages are closely connected to the communities around them, which is why ANZAC Day holds such special meaning for us. Our villages not only honour the day internally with residents, but we also take pride in participating alongside the wider community whenever possible. Today we had the privilege of standing alongside the Mount Wellington–Panmure RSA for their ANZAC Day commemorations.

When we say we’re in the middle of the action, we really mean it! Warkworth Oaks’ contemporary retirement apartments are perfectly positioned in the heart of Warkworth township — beside the iconic Warkworth Hotel and just a short stroll to cafés, shops, supermarkets, banks, and health services. Remuera Gardens was buzzing with energy during our recent Give It a Go Week, where residents and guests enjoyed a range of activities showcasing the vibrant lifestyle our village offers. From outdoor games in the autumn sunshine to Chair Pilates, Chair Yoga and aqua aerobics, there was something for everyone to try. Visitors also toured the new Avenue Apartments, explored our beautiful gardens, and enjoyed barista coffee and yummy treats at the Little Nook café.

Remuera Gardens is featured on page 2 of the latest issue, with a beautifully written article showcasing the eight acres of cottage and tropical gardens that make our village such a special place to live — filled with an eclectic mix of native and exotic species. We think the hydrangeas and flowers in the photos look spectacular — and our residents look just as fabulous!

Fashion, friendship and community spirit came together beautifully this week at the Remuera Bridge Club, where Real Living Villages was delighted to attend a vibrant fashion show organised with Shoshamma Creations. The event brought together more than 100 guests to celebrate style, connection and the strong sense of community that makes Remuera such a special place to live.

When it comes to garden parties, Epsom Village truly steals the show! The New Zealand weather delivered a flawless, sunny, windless day for the annual Garden Party beneath the majestic oak tree, with around 50 residents filling the shaded tables and enjoying a wonderful afternoon of delicious nibbles, companionship and live music.

Flashback to one of our most memorable days at Remuera Gardens. Last year, we were honoured to welcome the one and only Mother of the Nation, Judy Bailey, to celebrate our 40th Anniversary. Judy spent the morning with our residents, guests, and staff, reflecting on her remarkable career as one of New Zealand’s most trusted newsreaders and sharing insights from her inspiring life after television.
