Fashion, Friendship and Community at the Auckland Bridge Club

At Real Living Villages, our villages are closely woven into the fabric of the communities around them. From local sports clubs to churches, community organisations and schools, we value the strong connections that bring people together. One of the special relationships we cherish is with the Auckland Bridge Club, where several of our residents are enthusiastic members.
This week we were delighted to be invited to a wonderful fashion show at the club, organised in partnership with Shoshamma Creations, a New Zealand fashion house renowned for its timeless elegance and beautifully crafted designs for daywear, evening wear, and special occasions.
More than 100 guests gathered for the occasion to enjoy a vibrant showcase of pieces from Shoshamma’s latest collection. The parade featured a special guest appearance by New Zealand model Lorraine Downes, who continues to model with remarkable grace and style after decades in the public spotlight.
Set to lively music, the fast-paced show presented a stunning range of seasonal outfits, from elegant spring and autumn ensembles to beautiful coats perfect for the cooler months. The sense of style extended beyond the runway, with many guests also dressed for the occasion in their own fabulous outfits.
The event was a fantastic opportunity for Real Living Villages representatives Rachel Cato and Lillian Fletcher to join the celebration and connect with members of the wider Remuera community.
As a proudly family-owned organisation, Real Living Villages places great importance on supporting local clubs, churches, RSAs, and community groups. Our villages are shaped not only by the residents who live there, but also by the vibrant communities that surround them. That spirit of connection and looking out for one another is something that truly reflects what makes New Zealand communities so special.
Moments like these highlight what makes village life so special — a strong sense of connection, shared experiences, and the opportunity to remain actively involved in the wider community. At Remuera Gardens, residents enjoy not only beautiful homes and spectacular gardens, but also the chance to stay engaged with the people, places and events that make this neighbourhood so vibrant.
