The Perfect Blend of Comfort and Convenience

Warkworth Oaks is a five-story apartment complex featuring high-quality designer residences, set right in the heart of the historic, character-filled community of Warkworth. The town’s welcoming, countryside charm invites both locals and visitors to relax and savor the diverse range of cafes. Among residents’ favorites are the Secret Café, conveniently located on the ground floor of the apartment building, and Pete and Mary’s, just down the road.

The Secret Café offers a cosy atmosphere and delicious food, making it a favorite coffee stop for our residents.

Tom and Jill are two residents who particularly appreciate the relaxed and friendly atmosphere that Warkworth has to offer. “Warkworth Oaks ticked all the boxes. The apartments were brand new and safe, with an easy lock-it-and-leave option, and the village is within walking distance of everything we need”.

Tom and Jill are standing in front of Warkworth Butchery, another favourite among residents. The main street of the town also features two pharmacies, a bank, and two supermarkets, with additional health services just a short stroll away. There are also several op shops and a variety of second-hand shops to explore.

Christine is another Warkworth Oaks resident who greatly appreciates living so close to all her essential needs. Moving to our retirement village has enabled her to fulfill her dream of traveling overseas more frequently. However, when she’s home, she finds the convenience of not needing to use her car simply unbeatable: “It’s so convenient, you can walk everywhere. At one stage I didn't use my car for a month!"

Another key attraction of living in Warkworth is the peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of Auckland. At Warkworth Oaks, residents take full advantage of the winterless north by enjoying the beautiful gardens, parks, and walkways that surround the area. The village’s Activities Coordinator, Raewyn Morrison, cherishes being immersed in nature and encourages all residents to explore beyond the village to fully appreciate the stunning landscape: “If you want to venture a bit further, about 20 minutes from town is Tawharanui Regional Park – one of the jewels in the crown of the Auckland Council parks network. The park offers a variety of wonderful walks, and the views are spectacular, encompassing Hauturu (Little Barrier Island), toward Leigh, Kawau Island and the wider Hauraki Gulf.”

With its prime location, delightful local amenities, and easy access to stunning natural landscapes, Warkworth Oaks truly embodies the best of both worlds. Whether it’s savouring a cup of coffee at the Secret Café, exploring nearby shops, or taking in the breathtaking views at Tawharanui Regional Park, life at Warkworth Oaks provides a fulfilling and enriching experience for all who call it home.

Easter is one of the most meaningful celebrations in New Zealand—a time for family, reflection, and joy. At our Real Living villages, we embrace the spirit of the season by creating happy moments for all, with fun cornhole competitions, themed crafts, and beautifully homemade treats. Of course, no Easter would be complete without a visit from our resident Easter Bunny, who makes sure there’s a little chocolate for everyone.

Movement and Mindfulness

At Real Living, we are always exploring new ways to improve the well-being of our residents and staff. One of our latest initiatives, the Holistic Dance Exercise Programme (HDEP), is an innovative, evidence-based project developed by our Group Culture, Care, and Quality Manager, Reign Marcial. Rooted in academic research and inspired by established practices from the Alzheimer’s Society in the UK, this programme integrates movement, meditation, and structured exercise to support cognitive function, balance, and fall prevention among older adults.
