The Best of Warkworth on Your Doorstep

When we say we’re in the middle of the action, we really mean it.

Warkworth Oaks’ contemporary retirement apartments sit in the heart of charming Warkworth township, alongside the iconic Warkworth Hotel — a treasured local landmark dating back to 1862 — and nestled among a beautiful stand of mature oak trees.

Life here offers the perfect lock-and-leave lifestyle. With the new motorway connection, Auckland is now closer than ever, while boutique cafés, shops, supermarkets, banks and health services are all just a short stroll from your door. Many residents say they can leave their car safely parked in the secure underground garage and forget about it for weeks.

For resident Christine, this everyday convenience has made a real difference:

“It’s so convenient — you can walk everywhere. At one stage I didn’t use my car for a month!”

Living so centrally has also allowed Christine to travel overseas more often, knowing everything she needs is close at hand when she returns home.

A Peaceful Setting with Nature on Your Doorstep

While Warkworth Oaks enjoys a wonderfully central position, it also offers a peaceful escape from the pace of city life.

The Mahurangi River winds gently through the township, and mature trees create a relaxed natural setting that brings a sense of calm to everyday living. Warkworth is also the gateway to the wider Mahurangi region, with stunning beaches, scenic walkways, nature reserves and vineyards all within easy reach — including beautiful Tāwharanui Regional Park just a short drive away.

Here, it’s easy to enjoy the best of both worlds: vibrant township living and effortless access to nature.

Designed for Comfort, Connection and Lifestyle

Residents Peter and Pam, who moved to Warkworth after 47 years in Christchurch, often encourage others not to leave the move too late — giving themselves more time to enjoy everything village life has to offer.

As Pam shared:

“When we first visited Warkworth Oaks, I was struck by the modern feel of it. The entrance was so welcoming — it immediately reminded us of a hotel lobby or elegant apartments. It was nothing like the other retirement villages we had visited. It has been the best decision for us.”

Within the village itself, residents enjoy a wide range of welcoming shared spaces and facilities designed to support an active and social lifestyle.

The Residents’ Lounge is a favourite gathering place — perfect for meeting friends for coffee, enjoying a game of billiards, or attending themed evenings and guest speakers. Other facilities include:

• a heated indoor swimming pool
• gym, spa and sauna
• table tennis and indoor bowls
• exercise classes such as yoga, aqua aerobics and Pilates
• a well-stocked library with a cosy fireplace overlooking the terrace and oak trees

A Village That Feels Like Home

As part of Real Living Villages, Warkworth Oaks remains proudly family-owned, offering a level of personal care, warmth and genuine connection that larger operators simply can’t replicate.

With its central township location, beautiful natural surroundings and welcoming community atmosphere, life at Warkworth Oaks is relaxed, connected and full of possibility.

We don’t like to brag… but sometimes being this close to everything really does make everyday life easier.
