Explore your future through an Open Day

Real Living hosts regular Open Days to offer potential residents the opportunity to explore the facilities and amenities of our four villages.

Currently, Remuera Gardens is hosting two Open Days on May 16th and May 17th, from 11am to 2pm. The village’s Sales Manager, Lyn Ellis, is in charge of organising these events, which include guided tours of the townhouses, independent apartments and serviced apartments.

Lyn knows that it can feel daunting to start looking at retirement villages, with many unknowns lying ahead. But visiting the village is the best way to alleviate any concerns and gain firsthand insight into the vibrant community, exceptional services, and comfortable living options available at Remuera Gardens.

Lyn’s perspective encapsulates this sentiment: “Think of retirement living as a new chapter in your life – new people, new places. You're not at the end of something; you're at the beginning of something else."

Remuera Gardens' living options include townhouses, one and two apartments and serviced apartments.

Visiting Remuera Gardens during an Open Day also involves walking around the communal areas such as the Lounge, dining facilities, the swimming pool, the professional cinema and the library. Naturally, many visitors are captivated by the village's enchanting gardens, with lush greenery, colourful flowers and well-manicured lawns.

Participating in an Open Day also allows you to direct any inquiries you may have to Lyn, our Sales Manager. Additionally, it may offer an opportunity to interact with our residents and confirm whether the village resonates with your sense of belonging.

The Sales Managers work closely with the Village Managers. Here, Lyn is pictured with Epsom Village’s Manager, Lillian Fletcher, after an Open Day.

Pakuranga Park also hosts regular Open Days to showcase its living options to potential residents, including open plan villas, one and two bedroom apartments and the latest addition to the village: a magnificent four-story building of luxury apartments that take retirement living to a new level.

The Head of the Sales Team at Pakuranga Park is Sylvie Borrett, with more than eleven years of experience in Real Estate sales. For Sylvie, the most important message to convey to our visitors is that there’s absolutely no pressure to make a purchase during their Open Day visit.

Sylvie wishes to extend this message to all those interested: "I'm here to guide you through the available options and offer you a glimpse of the everyday joys that make life here so wonderful."

Sylvie Borrett and Fiona Roberts are part of the friendly Sales Team who guide visitors through the properties available at Pakuranga Park.

During a typical Open Day at Real Living, guests can enjoy food and beverage options for morning or afternoon tea, providing them with the chance to sample the offerings from our kitchen. On March, Pakuranga Park hosted a very unique event inviting visitors to try two of the most popular sports at the village, bowls and croquet. Visitors had the opportunity to participate in these activities and at the same time mingle with the residents, providing a relaxed opportunity to immerse themselves in the village atmosphere.

March's event was a success, with residents and visitors engaging with one another, sharing experiences, and having lots of fun.

If, after reading all this, you're still uncertain about attending an Open Day, keep in mind that you can also contact the Sales Managers at any time to schedule a personal visit outside of the designated Open Days.

Living the high life

At Real Living, some of our residents have mastered the art of making the most out of life. Vera, at 95 years old, refuses to let her age hinder her dreams. When she expressed her desire to try skydiving for her 95th birthday to her son Nigel, he simply looked at her and said, 'Mum, you can do anything!' True to her spirit, Vera leaped out of a plane, and it became one of the most exhilarating experiences of her life. Her courage and determination are a source of inspiration to us all at Real Living.

Anzac Day commemoration

The week of Anzac Day is a very important time at Real Living, as all our villages join the nation in commemorating the service and sacrifice of New Zealand and Australian military personnel. Yesterday, Pakuranga Park celebrated a memorial gathering to remember the fallen and pay tribute to the bravery of our military members. At the end of the ceremony, they featured a performance by the Eno Sisters, a trio of talented singers who sing songs from the wartime era.

Lonely Miaow visits Real Living

There's only one thing that can make you happier than a kitten... and it's a bunch of kittens! Last week, the residents of Epsom Village were treated to a visit from Lonely Miaow, a non-profit organization dedicated to the rescue and care of stray and abandoned cats and kittens. Lonely Miaow brought around 12 very friendly cats and kittens who loved mingling with the residents, having cuddles, and of course... getting into mischief.
