Pakuranga Park invites you to try croquet and bowls

Research shows that being open to new experiences and trying new hobbies keeps you young at heart. This is something that Pakuranga Park Village wholeheartedly believes in. The residents of this retirement community are always open to trying new activities they've never done before, including sports like croquet and bowls.

This month, the village is hosting an 'Experience Bowls' day on Thursday, March 14th, where the public is welcome to come along and give it a try under the guidance of local experts. Tea, jam, and cream scones will be provided, as is customary with many of our events at Pakuranga Park!

The next 'try this' event will be Experience Croquet, held on Monday, March 18th. The community invites anyone interested in learning to play these games to get in touch and join us. Refreshments will be provided!

Bowls: Thursday, March 14, 1-3 pm

Croquet: Monday, March 18, 9-11 am

Pakuranga Park Village is a retirement community with a special vibe. Our residents are friendly, generous-spirited, and enjoy the adventure of daily life rather than simply relaxing and shying away from challenges. They are also a very social bunch who laugh easily and share a common sense of fun. Croquet and bowls are two of their favorite sports, and the village regularly organises competitions between residents and staff, with the residents' team always winning!

If you are interested in trying croquet or bowls, please contact us to RSVP and reserve your spot. You are also welcome to simply come along and watch. It's lots of fun, and you'll definitely make new friends. So why not call us, pop in, and give it a go?

RSVP to reserve your spot to Sylvie Borrett on 027 314 5767 or email sylvie.borrett@realliving.co.nz.

Of course, no Easter would be complete without a visit from our resident Easter Bunny, who makes sure there’s a little chocolate for everyone.

Movement and Mindfulness

At Real Living, we are always exploring new ways to improve the well-being of our residents and staff. One of our latest initiatives, the Holistic Dance Exercise Programme (HDEP), is an innovative, evidence-based project developed by our Group Culture, Care, and Quality Manager, Reign Marcial. Rooted in academic research and inspired by established practices from the Alzheimer’s Society in the UK, this programme integrates movement, meditation, and structured exercise to support cognitive function, balance, and fall prevention among older adults.
